Haematoxylin & Eosin (x40)

Mass consisted of dense granulation and fibrous tissue (F) studded with multiple foci of intense pyogranulomatous inflammation (P). The inflammatory cells were concentrated upon large club colonies (B) of bacteria (Splendore-Hoeppli phenomenon), which were gram negative.
