Case 3:

Signalment:

6 year old, male Beagle.

History and clinical signs:

Presented with progressive hindlimb ataxia (incoordination) with paresis (weakness) and proprioceptive (placing) deficits. The forelegs had become progressively weak and intermittent neck pain was present. Two days later the body temperature dropped and mentation became depressed and the dog died suddenly whilst in hospital.

Gross Pathology:

No significant lesions were seen in the brain or spinal cord.
