Introduction |
Colloid goitre:History:Young lambs presented with bilateral large masses palpable either side of the larynx. One lamb was sacrificed. The thyroid glands were exposed and on cut section, these masses appeared a translucent, amber colour.
Section through enlarged thyroid gland.(x40) The follicles are distended with colloid (stored thyroglobulin). The epithelial cells lining the follicles are very flat.Slide Ref: lab class 3, slide 2 *
