Introduction

History:

A three month old crossbred lamb in good nutritional condition was found collapsed soon after the mob had been moved between paddocks. The lamb was reluctant to move and could only stand if supported. It was otherwise bright and alert and its cardinal signs were normal.

The lamb was euthanised. At necropsy, the chief gross abnormalities were irregular pallor and flabbiness (lack of rigor) of some of the proximal fore- and hindlimb muscles (left). No gross myocardial lesions were identifiable.
