Introduction

Case 5:

History:

An incidental post mortem finding in a 12 year old Dalmatian was locally extensive polypoid thickening of the mucosa of the gall bladder. The largest polyps were approximately 0.4 cm in diameter and of soft consistency, dimpling under pressure.

This is a low magnification view of the wall of the gall bladder. The tissue appears blanched and autolysed because of the post mortem detergent effects of bile acids. Note the multiple cystic structures in the mucosa.
