Case 1:
History:
Female Oriental kitten (age not specified) from a litter
of four delivered by caesarian section. Recieved colostrum from another
queen. Third kitten in litter to die with purulent occular and nasal discharge.
At necropsy, the kitten was in poor nutritional condition. Tracehal and
primary bronchial lumina contained purulent exudate and approximately
70% of the lung volume was red, atelectatic and consolidated.
Lung (low power). This
is a bronchopneumonia with inflammation extending from bronchi, down bronchioles
and into alveolar lumens.
