Case 3:
History:
Pony, yearling female that died due to a large abscess
in the thoracic inlet that caused fatal tracheal compression
The abscess confirmed as a case of “bastard strangles”
Enlarged right ovary discovered as an incidental necropsy finding.
Gross pathology
Polycystic ovary (7x7x5 cm) with honey-coloured fluid in the cysts.
Multiloculated cysts filled with
clear yellow-amber fluid
