Signalment:

3 year old thoroughbred race horse

Clinical Signs:

Sudden onset of profound depression and profuse, watery, blood-tinged diarrhoea. HR was 80/min. Mucous membranes were purple. Horse died 2 days later despite intensive fluid therapy.
