Case
9:
Signalment:
5 year old female boxer
Clinical Signs:
The owner has noticed a lump on the left flank. You decide
to remove the lump. When the owner comes to collect her animal she asks
if it is possible to find out what the lump is. You go tell her that it
is possible to submit the lump for histopathological examination. The
owner is keen to get a definitive diagnosis and requests that you submit
the lump. You quickly race back to the theatre after discharging the dog
and search in the bin for the lump which you just threw away. Fortunately
you find the lump and place it in formalin before sending it off to the
lab.
