Introduction

Case 16:

Signalment:

12 week old labrador puppy

Clinical Signs:

The same pet shop that was having problems with respiratory disease in kittens is now having a problem with puppies dying after bouts of haemorrhagic diarrhoea. You suspect that this is a case of parvovirus enteritis but you perform a post mortem to confirm your suspicion. At post mortem you observe the typical gross changes associated with parvoviral enteritis but during you post mortem you also notice some small foci distributed randomly throughout the liver. You take a sample of one of these and submit it for histopathological examination.
