Skin:

Typical histological appearance of a squamous papilloma.
Only the superficial epithelial layer is affected, where it is thrown
into multiple folds. The epithelial cells are well-differentiated and the
architecture is orderly.

The epithelium of the hair follicles is also thickened,
and is producing excessive rings of keratin, around a central hair (arrowheads).

Mitotic figures are rarely seen in the basal layers.
Occasional areas of individual cell death are present. (pyknotic nuclei
– arrows)
