An acute intussusception in the small intestine of a horse.

The telescoped intestine was easily corrected (due to lack of fibrous adhesions), but severe vascular compromise had occurred, resulting in infarction of affected intestinal tissues and diffuse black/red discolouration of the intestinal wall.
