Epididymis. With hypoplastic
testis the epididymis is small and tubules typically do not contain
sperm. (x40)
Normal Epididymis. Normally,
in the adult, the epididymis is the storage organ for sperm and large
numbers should be apparent in these tubules. (x100)
Abnormal epididymal contents.
As a non-specific change, semen in the epididymis may contain degenerate
epithelial cells, abnormal sperm and mixed inflammatory cells. This
can occur with orchitis, sperm granuloma and epididymitis (x100)
