Introduction

Testicle. (x200)

Epididymis. With hypoplastic testis the epididymis is small and tubules typically do not contain sperm. (x40)

Normal Epididymis. Normally, in the adult, the epididymis is the storage organ for sperm and large numbers should be apparent in these tubules. (x100)

Abnormal epididymal contents. As a non-specific change, semen in the epididymis may contain degenerate epithelial cells, abnormal sperm and mixed inflammatory cells. This can occur with orchitis, sperm granuloma and epididymitis (x100)
