Introduction |
Introduction:Various terms are used to describe changes occurring in tissue size or bulk. These terms have strictly defined meanings and therefore cannot be used interchangeably. The main terms to become familiar with are atrophy, hypoplasia, hyperplasia, hypertrophy and metaplasia. These changes are not always detrimental to the animal's health (e.g. skeletal muscle hypertrophy in response to heavy exercise).NEXT |
