Introduction

Gross Findings:

Post mortem examination revealed normal body condition and ruminal contents. There were petechial (pinpoint) haemorrhages over the serosal surfaces of most organs. The ileum and colon were oedematous, dilated, flaccid and contained a foul smelling watery diarrhoea.

The surface of the mucosa was covered with a grey-brown membranous material that could be stripped off to reveal a dark red mucosal surface.
