Veterinary Pathology - Necrosis

Introduction

Histological Findings:

Haematoxylin & Eosin (x40)

Examination of muscle sections reveals widespread hyper-eosiniphilic appearance to the muscle tissue. There are small round vesicles observable between muscle fibres, which are consistent with either oedema, exudate or gas accumulation within the muscle. There appears to be very little inflammatory reaction considering the widespread necrotic injury.
