Ulceration within the pars oesophagea region in a pig.

Ulceration within the pars oesophagea region in a pig. This region of gastric mucosa consists of stratified squamous epithelium which has little natural defense against acids. This is a common disease in pigs. Sequelae include acute or chronic blood loss, perforation, stenosis due to fibrous healing, and illthrift.
