to see a comparison between the pancreas from case 2 and a normal pancreas.
Histologic examination of the pancreas revealed normal
islets of Langerhans which were more prominent than usual due to atrophy
of the exocrine parenchyma and condensation of the pancreatic stroma
and exocrine ducts . The exocrine acinar cells were depleted of zymogen
granules and appeared shrunken, basophilic and dissociated with loss
of the normal polarity around central lumina.
